The Mail Codes Table describes mail-delivery classifications according to the organization's hierarchy and sorts payment forms by mail distribution assignments for the standard paychecks and direct deposit advice forms.
Each Mail Codes Table includes a selection list for the Supervisor in charge of the Mail Code.
Where it's used: The Mail Codes Table populates the Distribution Code selection list in the Mail Distribution Information section on the Organization tab within the Employee Master.
The Mail Code selected on the Organization tab within the employee Master provides check-sorting and advice-sorting for most payment forms. When a new employee is hired, a Mail code typically can be entered as part of the Organization information.
To change the sort order for checks, populate the Mail Distribution field for each employee (Organization tab of the Employee Master). The checks then sort by this code when printing.
