Work groups organize users who require the same system notifications and workflow process assignments. One employee can belong to multiple work groups.
Work groups facilitate sending messages to employees through the Employee Message Center and determine workflows they receive.
Precondition: To assign an employee to a work group, there must be one or more Work Group Codes defined on the Work Group Codes Table.
On the ESS Pin Detail select the Assign Workgroups button to open the "EE Workgroup Assignment" screen. Assign an employee to one or more work groups on the EE Workgroup Assignment screen. The [x] Name and Description of each work group established display under the Employee field.
The work groups that an employee is assigned to determine what messages, system notifications, and workflow approval items, the employee receives. A user can belong to more than one work group.
For instance, all people who should review a job candidate for a particular department could be placed in a work group to receive a system notification that leave has been requested. Work groups facilitate sending messages to employees through the Employee Message Center that is found in the online portal.
