The Work Week Begin Day and Work Week Begin Time on the Attendance tab within the Employee Time Master define the timesheet weeks for each employee. While the start of the timesheet week is defined for each employee, it is the end of the week that identifies each timesheet week.
The work week begin day and time minus one minute equals the week ending day and time for weeks on the weekly timesheet.
The Work Week Begin Day field is numeric should be completed with a number from 1 to 7. The following standard week begin numbers and days assume a work week begin time of 0:
1, Sunday (week ends Saturday)
2, Monday (week ends Sunday)
3, Tuesday (week ends Monday)
4, Wednesday (week ends Tuesday)
5, Thursday (week ends Wednesday)
6, Friday (week ends Thursday)
7, Saturday (week ends Friday)
Note: To help users enter a valid work day value, the Attendance tab validates that the work week begin day is a value from 1 to 7. While not recommended, a date of 0, 8, or 9 may exist in a Work Week Begin Day field. In these cases, the day 0 is treated as 7, the day 8 is treated as a 1, and day 9 is treated as a 2. If an employee has a value of 0, 8, or 9 as a Work Week Begin Day value, update the employee's Attendance tab to have the corresponding 1 to 7 value.
It is recommended that an employee's work begin day in the system be adjusted to create weeks that begin and end in the same pay period.
For biweekly and weekly payrolls, look at the period begin date. What day of the week is it on? Look at the numeric days listed above, and enter the day that equals the pay period begin day.
