Time Import Files
Overview
Loading employee pay records from external time-keeping
systems into pay entry can be easily accomplished by creating and importing
a fixed-length ASCII time file. The time import tool processes the formatted
ASCII time file information and uploads this data to pay entry for a payroll.
A time file needs to meet the following specifications.
- The ASCII file must contain fixed-length
data elements where no delimiter characters separate record information.
- To import time via the web-product,
the file extension of the ASCII file must be .txt.
- The time import file may be named
however you choose where the file name is less than 28 characters. We
recommend that you use a familiar naming convention to avoid importing
incorrect client time files.
- The ASCII time file must have
employee information and needs to be formatted and structured according to the
Modified ASCII Time Import File Structure file specification.
To
import via the web-product any accessible file path can be used.
