Any tangible item temporarily assigned to an employee and owned by the company may be classified as an asset. When your organization loans company assets, from laptop computers to cars, tracking assets can help your organization save money and know where company property went.
The company assets that are loaned to an employee are originally recorded on the Employee Assets Detail screen, and upon termination, the processor can see which assets terminated employees have and have not returned by viewing the Employee Assets Detail.
A company has laptops. HR defines an asset code for each laptop and defines an Employee Asset Detail for each employee who receives a laptop.
Asset Codes generate list items such as a Laptop, computer, for the Asset Code field on the Employee Assets Detail screen.
