Employee Discipline Detail
Fields on
the Employee Discipline Detail
- Employee
Number. The
employee for whom the disciplinary infraction is recorded.
Infraction Information
- Discipline
Code. A
discipline code defines and classifies a disciplinary event. The Discipline
Codes Table is set up to standardize the types of disciplinary events,
assign a disciplinary action and penalty points or demerits, and to indicate
if union contact is necessary.
- Date.
Enter the
Date of the infraction and Comments to explain the details.
- Comments.
Enter any
Comments to explain the details.
- Reference.
To better
track discipline events, assign a reference or case number.
- Points.
The Reference
and penalty Points assigned to
this infraction are required fields. Points will populate from the Discipline
Code Table if entered during the setup of the selected code. Some companies
use a point system to determine escalation of consequences.
- Witnesses. Enter
Witnesses to the event.
- Union
Contacted? If
the union requires notification of this infraction, the Union
Contacted indicator should be selected. The system will default
to activate this indicator if it is set up on the Discipline Codes Table.
- Date
Union Notified.
Enter the
Date the Union is Notified.
Special Circumstances
- Weapons
Involved? Select
the Weapons Involved indicator
if there were weapons involved in this event.
- Self
Defense? Select
this Self Defense indicator if
the employee was acting in self-defense in this event.
- Provoked?
Select
this Provoked indicator if the
employee’s acted after being provoked
by another employee.
Disciplinary Action Information
- Action
Code. The
Action Code automatically populates when the selected Discipline Code
has this entry on the Discipline Code Table. The Discipline Actions Codes
Table is used to assign a standard disciplinarian action to a discipline
infraction.
- Date.
The date
of the disciplinary action due to this infraction is recorded here.
