Details

Automating the accrual of benefit hours through payroll and including attendance tracking from paid time-off (PTO) requires establishing links between payroll-related codes.

Results:  When earnings for paid time-off are linked to specific Attendance Codes, final payroll posting creates absence records for employees paid for time-off during the pay period. The absence record in the Employee Attendance Detail can be edited to as needed.

For the availability of new Code records for selection on subsequent steps, verify and add codes on Validation Tables in the following order.

Business Scenario

Whenever a company has benefit plans based on months of service, accrued by hours worked, such as Vacation, Sick Pay, and other Paid Time Off plans, attendance tracking can be set up to update accruals and create history records each time payroll processing occurs, providing employees with current account balances and managers with strategic staffing information.

Employee absences can be tracked manually on the Employee Attendance Detail screen or automatically created when hours are charged against an Earnings code that is associated with an Attendance code. Attendance information then can be reported in an Attendance Report.
