The Payroll Calendar validation table drives payroll processing for every pay run. Records on the Payroll Calendar Codes table are called payroll calendars.
The online Payroll Calendar is view-only and features several shortcut buttons.
Each payroll calendar defines payroll-processing parameters.
A unique Payroll Calendar ID must exist for every payroll run.
From the Enterprise Client program, the Payroll Calendar Wizard is available to define payroll calendars for the year.
Constraint: Users cannot delete Payroll Calendar record if employee time records or manual checks exist for payroll, payroll is in gross-to-net, or payroll has been posted.

A regular payroll run is considered a Scheduled run. All employees in a pay group are processed and the taxes on their earnings are calculated by an annualized method. |
Supplemental |
The Supplemental Run will tax earnings at the Supplemental Rate. It will also look at the deductions and taxes to determine if they are to be included in a Supplemental Run. |
Demand |
Used to process ad hoc earnings payments, like a termination check, and taxed at a daily or miscellaneous rate rather than on annualized earnings. The Demand and Adjustment runs will process taxes using daily tax calculations. |
Adjustment |
Used for voids and make up earnings, taxed at a daily or miscellaneous rate rather than on annualized earnings. The Demand and Adjustment runs will process taxes using daily tax calculations. |
The Payroll Calendar defines every payroll to be processed. A Payroll calendar must exist to process a payroll. All pay entry transactions are linked to a Payroll Calendar. It defines the pertinent dates associated with a payroll, sets Delivery and ACH dates, and defines various other processing options.
The Payroll Task Groups, the Payroll Task Items, and the Report Package codes need to exist before defining a payroll calendar.
