Return Codes

Return Codes classify the condition of an asset when the employee returns the asset.

On the Employee Assets Detail screen, the Return Codes Table provides a selection list to define the condition of a returned item.

Business Scenario

Some companies have policies that define the value of returned assets according to the asset and the return code.

The Employee Assets Detail typically is accessed in the final steps of the Employee Termination process. Upon termination of an employee and the return of an asset, an organization can edit the Employee Assets Detail records for the employee and can type the returned value based on these policies.

Fields on a Return Code

• Code.  Enter a Code (required) of ten characters or less with no spaces or special characters.
• Description (required).  Enter a description of thirty characters or less for the code.
• Active?  An active code has the Active checkbox selected, making the code available and keeping the code in effect as a valid choice.
